August 26 – The Kingdom of Heaven is Like a Mustard Seed that Grows to a Mighty Tree, so the Birds of the Air Come and Nest in its Branches.”
Matthew 13:31-32: He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
Never mock a person of small beginnings, because you don’t know where God will take them or how He will promote them. As the mustard seed, tinier than the others grew to be a tree, God too can take the tiny things in our lives and make them grow and be fruitful in order to bless us.
On the negative side, little weed seeds also grow in gardens and soon these seed push above the soil and start to sprout, grow, and sometimes even tower, ominously with power. Those seeds, however, became trees or and creepers that tangle around a person to choke the life of out of people. No one ever imagined that those little seeds had the potential to inflict so much harm and destruction in their season in Time, but it is too late, and the plant twists mercilessly around its victim to take its life. A recent incident I read in the papers was of a pastor’s son, a young man of 21 years old, suddenly found dead in his room to the shock of everyone. It was soon found out he was on drugs and got a heart attack due to an overdose. He thought he was just trying it out for kicks and would get rid of it but he couldn’t get out of it and his family never knew until he died. A tiny seed of starting drugs cost a life. It starts just for kicks.
Those tiny seeds grow in mellow sweet gardens, waiting for the right time to “hatch” and grow. People develop loving tolerance for bad seeds because they lack discernment. Everyone kept saying everything is fine, good and okay and what’s the harm with a bit of fun. These seeds are always garbed in good nature and sweet goodness.
How do these seeds grow? It grows as weeds with good seed to choke the good crop and lies get manifest while Truth gets withered. People who listen to the harvest of lies will breed corruption, destruction and death. They invested in seeds of lies. A message of convenience is preached, so peoples’ fleshes are fanned and they are bought. People never seek for higher ideals in life, never help others, never reach out, never learn to love and never give.
Good seeds planted will always give a fruit of good harvest in time. If we keep planting good seeds in the garden of Life, we will reap beautiful rich luscious fruit that will give us great delight in our good season of Time.
O So let us not indulge in bad seed-like activities, because we do not know when and how they grow so fast to override and destroy our lives.If harmless seeds are growing around us and we know it, get rid of it fast, destroy it, detach yourself from it. Choose not to feed it. If it is not fed and nourished, it will shrivel and die. Never entertain those seeds, or they will get life. Soak yourself in the Presence of God and those seeds in His Presence will get destroyed. There is hope. Don’t give the seed a chance to root and it will die. Grow only the good seeds in your garden!
